 Welcome!

Joyce McDonald is the author of several critically
acclaimed books including Swallowing Stones,
an ALA Top Ten Best Book for Young Adults and
Edgar Award Nominee, Shades of Simon Gray.
Here latest novel, Devil on My Heels was nominated
for five state awards

Like most writers, Joyce McDonald loves to read.
She's been an avid reader all her life and can't
imagine a day not spent, at least for a brief time,
lost in the pages of another world, walking in the
shoes of another person, experiencing what can
only be felt through prose and poetry.

From time to time she will share some of her favorite books and stories on this site, along with occasional commentary.
